cvsWe are delighted to have been awarded nearly £15,000 from the NHS Salford Clinical Commissioning Group Healthy Schools Innovation Fund to help improve health and wellbeing for children in Salford. The award will provide accident prevention and emergency first aid training to year six in Salford, helping to reduce the two million children attending A&E each year due to accidents that may have been prevented.

With the support of the Fund, we will affiliate local schools with I.M.P.S, a nationally recognised programme that "empowers young people to take personal responsibility for managing their own risk and equips them with the skills to cope in an emergency". With 10 centres around the country, I.M.P.S trainers teach accident and emergency first aid to year six children via face-to-face sessions, supported by additional online learning resources, provide them with the essential knowledge and skills to promote their own safety and wellbeing, as well as being able to assist their families and friends.

You can learn more about I.M.P.S by clicking here.

In addition, we will support the children, once trained, to assist in the provision of further courses delivering the same content for their parents and carers to attend, aiming to further improve the wellbeing of the Salford community.
