MedicALS, our acute Medical Emergencies course, has been extended to three days to allow for more comprehensive teaching and testing of skills required to manage acute medical emergencies.

We have listened to feedback from candidates and faculty and extended the internationally renowned course which now gives candidates more time to delve deeper into secondary survey.

MedicALS provides a high-level structured approach to managing teams responsible for caring for acutely ill patients and includes 20 training scenarios. The course provides exposure and practice in a wide variety of medical emergencies, including sepsis which remains the primary cause of death from infection.

MedicALS is mapped closely with the Acute Internal Medicine (AIM) curriculum with over half the competencies being covered on the course.

Designed for ST3s and above in general, acute and emergency medicine, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and ED Physicians Assistants, MedicALS provides a multi-disciplinary approach to managing and leading the care of the acutely ill patient.
