After the success of launching our new APEx course this year, we have announced more course dates in 2018 running in centres across the UK.

Course information

APEx aims to improve the care of patients with mental health crisis in an emergency setting. Supporting NHS England’s five-year forward view for mental health and the recent announcement of an additional 21,000 mental health professionals, the course provides multi-disciplinary training for those involved in crisis, including ED and psychiatry professionals as well as nurses and other allied professionals. The APEx course working group chair and ALSG Chair of Trustees – Prof. Kevin Mackway-Jones – led the first course and recommends it to anyone dealing with the psychiatric emergency patients. You can hear from Prof. Mackway-Jones about APEx by clicking here.

APEx courses are running on the following dates in our Manchester training centre:

  • 9-10 July 2018
  • 11-12 October 2018

There are more dates to be added but for now you can book your place by clicking here.
